Lake Watawga was formed in the late 19th Century to provide ice to New York City. Today, it provides beauty, peace and escape – not just to New Yorkers, but those from New Jersey and Philadelphia as well, along with any others looking to enjoy the quiet of a mountain getaway.

Lake Watawga is a pristine mountain lake fed by glacial ponds at the very top of the Pocono Mountains. 150 acres in size, it is owned by the Lakeview Estates Homeowners Association, which is comprised of all owners of the 132 lots in a planned community that backs up to 40,000 acres of protected state forest. We are located 25 minutes south of Scranton, 5 miles off Route 380 on Route 507, just outside the town of Gouldsboro, two hours from NYC and Philadelphia.

Within minutes of leaving your home, you can find yourself completely alone - walking on our 2.5 miles of private trails, paddling in the marsh or fishing on the lake, sharing the moment only with bald eagles, red- tailed hawks, blue heron, bass, ducks and beaver.
